2012 Tablet PC Reach 95.1 Million Units


Tablet PC is predicted to experience rapid growth in 2012. The amount that is sent to the market could reach 95.1 million units.

Digitimes Senior Research Analyst, James Wang, said in the fourth quarter of 2011 was the growth of Tablet PC does not happen. But this is more due to the effects of successive earthquakes of Japan, on March 11, 2011, and the economic crisis that hit several countries including Europe.

Due to economic conditions expected in 2012 will not be that bad, even according to Wang gadget growth will occur. "It is estimated that tablet PC shipments next year will reach 95.1 million units or an increase to 60 percent a year," he said.

In the next three years, shipments of smart phones is predicted to reach 1 billion units. Similarly, any tablet PC shipments will rise. In 2014, the tablet will reach 170 million units, about 70 percent of laptop shipment.

The categories will shrink, according to Digitimes Research, is a netbook. This year, Netbook shipments declined 2.1 percent. In 2012, the figure is predicted to increasingly fall as much as 28.7 percent.

Delivery tablet called 2011 increased 188.3 percent, and in 2012 there is still an increase of 59 percent. While shipments of laptops and tablets in total in 2012 is predicted to rise 15.8 percent.
