Because of Twitter, Barton Released Free Newcastle

Newcastle United announced that it has placed midfielder Joey Barton in transfer list and any club can get for free.

"Newcastle United can confirm that Joey Barton has been included in the transfer list today (Monday, 01/08/2011). The player was told he could move the club on a free transfer," Newcastle said on its official site.

According to reports in England, Newcastle acted so because of Barton's comments on his Twitter account with a penalty imposed relating to the Newcastle defender Jose Enrique.

Enrique fined for saying openly that Newcastle had no ambition.

In response, Barton said, "If Jose's comments did not affect the atmosphere of the locker room, I'm sure it will be a phenomenon of the iceberg."

Although it has been declared for sale, Barton said they were proud to defend Newcastle and accused the club's top brass who do not understand the meaning behind the black-and-white uniform pride of Newcastle.

"Somewhere in the senior ranks of NUFC, they have decided abandoned me," said Barton.

"I'm a free transfer, but the honor of wearing a black-and-white uniform to beat it. One day, the directors may be aware of what the costume. Honor and dignity. Thank you for your support that never end," he added.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported, Liverpool and Manchester United ready to compete for the signature of Barton.
